How to Think Outside of the Box When You are Literally INSIDE a Box

Imagine if even you grew up in a cardboard box--it would have to be a refrigerator box if we are going to commit to the hypothetical situation.  The cardboard box would also have to be on stilts so you could poop out the bottom, and have a couple airholes, and maybe a hole to stick carrots and french fries in.  (But that's all you got--french fries and carrots). You grew up knowing nothing but the walls of your box--in incredible detail, mind you--but you turn into Smeagol and thus lose all your potential to be human.

This is an exaggerated version of the deficiencies of living what we called "a sheltered life" whether by choice or not.  When you only see the world one way, know one type of food, ignore the mumblings outside the walls of your comfort zone, then you are as good as cardboard-box-hypothetical-person. Life is a ridiculous process of playing leap frog with your comfort zone.  An object at rest tends to stay at rest-Newton.  This is also completely true for me...An Anne at rest tends to stay at rest (especially when my netflix video comes in the mail)...until I become unsatisfied, and in essence "hungry for a new experience".
The desiderata urges us to "listen to even the dull and the ignorant for they too have their story".  We have to avoid shutting things out of our conscious experience because hearing them might challenge some assumption we have made about the world and its wily ways.  I am indirectly talking to myself here.  It is too easy to "pull a Qaddafi" and take a pill of your own bull-shit every day.  It is so easy to hear what you are used to hearing and think what you are used to thinking...but it is as dangerous as this wooden post appeared to be...

Life Experience is like a vitamin.  Let's call it vitamin "A+phlem", which is an arabic letter called "Ayn"( ﻉ).  People who are deprived of said vitamin are privy to narrow-mindedness and lack of tolerance.
and sometimes  ♂ +  ﻉ = ∞ fundamentalist jihadist groups and :(

On another note, my arabic presentation went splendidly and there is in fact a video.  Now I can scratch one more thing off my "to do" list [become a youtube sensation]

On a third note:  Tomorrow, I am leaving for Aqaba, Wadi Rumm, Dana Forest Reserve and Petra.  5 days, 4 destinations, 3 pairs of underwear, 2 reunited roommates of ruin (Biff and I) and so much room for activities.

So many notes!
Let's end this post on a HIGH NOTE

Death to King Louis!!
